Keep Kenosha Beautiful is dedicated to the beautification and betterment of our community as a whole. Our focus is litter prevention, recycling education, and city-wide beautification, while creating community pride through volunteerism.

  Volunteers Needed!
  The Keep Kenosha Beautiful and Kenosha Stormwater Utility are working together on a swale restoration project in the River Crossing Subdivision. Plans are to plant native plantings within a cross section the swale. The City anticpates that this trial bio-swale will improve stormwater management and enhance the aesthetics of the community. Volunteers are needed to help plant these native species. Native plants have large root systems that percolate water down to the water table, curbing excessive stormwater run-off. The native species also attract wildlife such as birds and butterflies, which will enhance the trial bio-swale's function.
  The trial bio-swale planting scheduled for Saturday, July 10, 2010 has been canceled due to heavy rains. There will be no dates scheduled until the water subsides.   Volunteer Information:
  Location: south east of 67th Street and 108th Avenue, parking along the street
  Clothing: hats, gloves and boots, there are wet sections to be planted
  Miscellaneous: We will supply bug spray, sunscreen, water, vinyl gloves and trowels
